The old days of the golden age of flying. Today economy class and the Greyhound bus are similar. My last international trip to São Paulo on American Airlines the seat pitch, distance between the seats was exactly the same distance as on Southwest Airlines which I took a week earlier.

I remember trips to Europe in the early 70’s. The multi-seat rows in the back were usually empty so I’d go back, put up the arms and sleep to Europe.
People did not dress like bums when they flew. I remember I wore a skirt and matching jacket on my weekend flight. To Ghana, I wore a skirt. Most of the guys had jackets and ties which they took off until arrival. We looked good!
