    The Ames Brothers were the sons of Ukrainian Jewish parents. Very successful career as singers; Ed Ames is the only one still alive. He turned to acting after the group broke up, featured as Danial Boone,s companion Indian ‘Mingo’ —- from Ukraine to indigenous. The Ames Brothers recordings were lost in the Universal Studios archive fire. Some history’s!

      I remember a famous Ed Ames guest appearance on Johnny Carson. He taught Johnny how to throw a tomahawk.
