It was quite popular in its day as was Gertrude Lawrence, starting in the 20’s and continued her whole life . She was the first British performer to star in an American musical on Broadway. She won a Tony in 1952. She has a Cape connection and owned a house in Dennis. The Cape Playhouse is where she performed a play needing work prior to opening on Broadway.
