    This one is an oldie but a goody. This was a popular song before the Chordettes recorded it.

      The first version had been recorded the same year as this one, just earlier. Here is what I found,

      “Mr. Sandman” is a popular song written by Pat Ballard which was published in 1954 and first recorded in May of that year by Vaughn Monroe& His Orchestra and later that same year by the Chordettes and the Four Aces.
