Wow! I had no idea that they were once advertised as “French Pastries”. Of course no one can imitate the filling because I don’t think there’s anything dairy in the there. Frankly, I don’t want to know what’s in the filling. 🙂

I didn’t either. Perhaps that made the cupcakes more enticing being called French. Now they are exotic of a sort.
