This was taken on the boat from France to Dover, England. We had been dropped off at the wrong place by the cab driver and ran with our bags across the long parking lot. We got on the boat, and they just about hit us on our butts with the platform. My sister and I ran ahead to the upper deck and bought my parents each a drink and had the drinks waiting. My father was glad for the boat, the seat at the bar and the cold drink waiting for him.

Your dad was a handsome man. Unfortunately, many men of both his and our generation were hooked on tobacco. This terrible habit certainly didn’t do any good for our health nor our longevity.
He and my mother were pooped. We had to run or we would have missed the boat. Both were so gad to find their drinks waiting. It was a leisurely boat ride after that.

My dad was never without a cigarette and neither was my mother. I once smoked but gave it up a long time ago. My two sisters still smoke.

I quit 28 years ago before my daughter was born. The effects of thirty years of smoking are still with me. 😦

I too have effects from smoking. I’m just glad I stopped.
