For so many years, Van has sound tracked our years. Mrs MDH and I have dutifully bought each release even though we were well aware of the steadily declining quality. Van turned to issuing a covers album every 6 months. and we stopped 5 discs ago. Interestingly he emerged as a Covid denier and issued 5 songs about being dun wrong by the government supported by the ever confused Eric Clapton
Well, this all became more fun when he decided to issue “Latest Record Project Volume 1” – a quick play of the title track confirmed its dire status, but Van had to go further. He offered autographed editions in the UK to boost sales.
Unfortunately for his Van-ness it was quickly spotted that they were using an autopen with 5 slightly different versions. In their embarrassment, Amazon UK bought them all back.
I will argue for ever that “Its too late to stop now” is the greatest live album ever made, but we are done with Van.
MDH,
This song fit my theme. and I liked it. You have far more of a relationship with Van Morrison’s music than I do. I bow to your superior knowledge.
You stopped only 5 discs ago? Gracious, but that’s a lot of crap you bought. I stopped around 1995. I do sort of have to admire how Van apparently has no shame and knows no limits and continues to embarrass himself year after year after year after (ad nauseam). Someone should tell hiim. Don’t you have a friend who plays in his band? Oh wait; can’t do that or your friend might be out of a job. Great talent gone bad.
Im6, best to say I do know someone in the band and leave it at that. We dumped at Born to Sing, no plan B.
On a slightly different approach I met someone who shared a business with the aforementioned Mr Morrison and he described in no uncertain detail that he is not very cuddly.
