I love Seseme Street. Both of my kids enjoyed it and learned a ton. Every time the Federal Government, under Republican administrations want to cut or eliminate funding for PBS, they should remember the value of Sesseme Street.
I was in Ghana when Sesame Street started so I was a bit behind in watching. I think it was so valuable in exposing kids to new ideas, numbers and words. That one of its first Sesame Street people was a Black says so very much!

And they covered topics that most parents didn’t want to open up. Such as death when the character who played Mr. Hooper passed away.
