Of all strange things I actually saw America and cannot remember a single thing about a very short show.
It was September 1971, say 50 years ago and it was my first live concert day – at the Oval in London culminating in The Faces, followed by The Who. As an all day event it is easy to forget acts that were tedious, long forgotten or trying to play acoustic in front of 50,000 people (or whatever the crowd was)
the records show that America were on with Lindisfarne, Mott the Hoople, Quntessence and Cochise and a bunch of other rubbish performers in to which their one album folded.
Horse with no name ? I will claim they played that but havent got a clue.
For what it is worth, The Who were horribly late coming on and I had to make my way to Vauxhall station before they were finished to get the last train home

My Dear Hedley,
I saw American in a very small venue. It was perfect for them. The concert was good.
