Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs is probably my favorite Eric Clapton project. I hadn’t paid as close attention to this track as some of the others (probably because the big electric blues pieces on that album are real stunners) so it’s nice to revisit this intimate one on its own. Tender and sad.

You know it takes me a while to choose the songs. They have to fit the topic, but more than that, they have to fit me and my mood.
