These things are still being made by 5th and 6th graders, mostly girls. MY daughter brought one home when she was in elementary school. What did you call them when you were a kid? We called them, “Cooty Catcher”. No one could define what a “Cooty” was, but you didn’t want to get them.

We also called them Cootie Catchers. I mentioned the same thing: that I didn’t know what cooties were. I just knew cooties were bad.
