      I was never that curious. I had an aunt who was a nun so I could have asked her. I think they wore undergarments!

    Boys in front and girls behind, was this standard seating at that time or just an exception?

      It just happened that way. In many classes we were seated alphabetically. It was a row of girls, a row of boys and on and on and on.

      When we were on the move, there was a girls’ line and a boys’ line. We walked side by side.
