    This really SUCKS !!!!

On a Saturday morning (9-10) there was a radio show in the early 60s called “Children’s Choice” hosted by Uncle Mac who turned out to be an extremely unpleasant fellow

Anyway as the 60s turned we would tune in hoping for the Beatles or something similar and were “treated” to endless repetition of this awful song sung by Burl Ives. In later years they placed a Beatles song at the end of the show before they went in to Saturday Club (10-12)with Brian Matthew where new artists would play live at the BBC

So the residual damage is a distinct dislike for anything Ives especially this stupidity about a bucket

    I DEMAND Lenny on Tuesday

      MDH,
These two amazing folk singers should have burned away your memory of Burl Ives who has never been a favorite of mine. I didn’t even know he sang this. It is a silly song but many kids’ songs are silly and fun to sing. All right! Lennie is coming!!!
