It never benefited my opinion of Martha Reeves, or Aretha Franklin to live in the same community and have direct or indirect dealings with them. Ms Reeves single term on City Council was at best “unsuccessful” and my dealings with Ms Franklin were at best “unpleasant”

So it goes. They made wonderful inspirational music, this one had Marvin Gaye’s input all over it and was recorded at Hitsville USA . Martha has stuck around and I think she still lives in Lafayette Park.

I guess today if you Dance in the Streets, the Orange Impostor sends his secret army to beat the crap out of you.

      My Dear Hedley,
Perhaps fame and money went to Aretha’s head. I wonder what prompted Ms Reeves to run for office, perhaps a weak moment. Interesting that she stayed around.
I am willing to dance in the streets. I will take the chance. If I get beaten, there I am an old being beaten for just standing there. I can me on MSNBC now!

One of the best of Motown. I agree with Hedley about the storm troopers. Obviously, his AG, Herr Barr, in testimony before the House, agrees that dancing in the street is verboten. Sig heil.

I could only watch a short while before I couldn’t stand listening to Barr. I didn’t believe much of what he said, and I think he dishonored the country and the Constitution.
