Mary, Florence and Diana grew up in the Brewster-Douglass project. Heck even Smokey and Lily Tomlin grew up there. The Brewster deteriorated over the years and became a symbol of the decay of Detroit.
The project occupied the blocks between the stadium district and the medical center. It’s gone now as Detroit continues to reinvent itself.
It was notable that night after night folks marched for BLM without any peripheral activities. They have marched in the city and in the suburbs and continue to be heard
And who wrote this fab tune ? One Stevland Morris out of Saginaw …hang on a sec, isn’t that Stevie Wonder
My Dear Hedley,
Detroit did well breeding so many stars.
That project sounds huge. I figured it was one of those brick projects as many did deteriorate, and some were a hotbed of crime.
There were some issues in Boston when the marching first started, but since that night the marches have been peaceful. My nephew and his nearly 14 year old son marched in Colorado. My nephew said he wanted his son to know how important taking a stand and making his voice heard are. He is a good man.

I didn’t know Stevie Wonder’s real name.
