Using a feather duster is so old fashioned. Today, we buy swifter pads. Did your mother dust wearing an apron over her skirt? Mine never did. She wore a house dress. It’s still work

I use a dust mop first which is also old fashion. It collects a lot of balls of dust and fur. I also use the Swifter pads.
I don’t remember my mother wearing aprons a whole lot. When I was young but not when I was older. She didn’t a house dress. She wore pants when she cleaned.

My grandmother used a real feather duster, it was a wing of a goose I think. It looked strange and I remember that many feathers were broken. When I cleared out home I kept a lot of her stuff but not this one.

Birgit,
I have seen a feather duster, but I had no idea what bird surrendered its feathers. I don’t blame you for leaving it.
I like my dust mop. It does a great job cleaning and has lasted for years.
