4 Comments on “Lily,Rosemary, and the Jack of Hearts: Bob Dylan”
Lily’s arms were locked around the man that she dearly loved to touch,
She forgot all about the man she couldn’t stand who hounded her so much.
“I’ve missed you so,” she said to him, and he felt she was sincere,
But just beyond the door he felt jealousy and fear.
Just another night in the life of the Jack of Hearts.
There you have it Kat, the extra verse which I believe only showed up on a demo version of LR&JH which only appears in “More Blood More Tracks”, the bootleg series of Blood on the Tracks
Kat and Hedley,
this extra verse sounded familiar so I’ve listened to Baez’s version again which I like and heard more often than Dylan. She already sang it (From Every Stage, recorded 1975, minute 6:02), just a few words are different. I never noticed that it’s not on Blood On The Tracks.

My Dear Hedley,
Thank you for this. I didn’t know about the extra verse. I can hear him sing this.

I haven’t heard the Baez version or I don’t remember it. I’ll hunt it down. Thanks!
