“I heard an old lady at my work say she was going to put a glass of wine in every room of her house and go on a pub crawl. She’s 92!”
The sun is gone, and the clouds have filled the vacuum. No rain is predicted. It is in the high 50’s. Tonight will drop back to the 40’s.
My eye is ugly, but it was hidden by my glasses so I went out yesterday. I had such fun. I went to the dump and sat in a line waiting for a turn at the dumpsters. My car was so full it took me a while to empty it. My next stop was the grocery store where most people were wearing masks except for one couple. I wanted to point at them and make that earsplitting shriek the way they do in the remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, but I just gave them a dirty look and checked out. After that I went for a ride. The main routes had a slew of cars, but the back streets had far fewer. I headed up cape and got as far as Sandwich. I put more miles on my car in that one trip than I have in weeks.
When I was a kid, I liked to color. All our crayons were kept in a round tin which once held a cake. We never threw a crayon away unless the stub was so small it was useless. Some of the crayon boxes came with a sharpener. As the crayons got smaller, we’d tear off the labels. That meant we didn’t know the actual color. Azure blue was just blue, and Indian red was just red, but we didn’t really care. Every Christmas we’d get new crayons usually in our stockings. I remember the box with 48 “different brilliant colors.” My mother never forgot to add a Christmas coloring book to our stockings.
The governor today announced Phase One of opening the state. The list of what can open is small: places of worship, construction and manufacturing.
My mood has a name, quarantine fatigue.

Nice title quote 🙂
Beautiful summer weather here. No quarantine fatigue yet, it’s not really quarantine anyway if you hadn’t had a known corona contact here, I just miss the open air concerts and festivals and my usual mobile range. So far I try to avoid public transport but it’s difficult to find new places to explore within bike range. Public holiday on Thursday and I’m looking for a new destination which is nice and reachable and not too crowded.

Birgit,
I haven’t seen anyone for close to three weeks except employees of the markets where I’ve shopped. I don’t mind staying home, but I would love the permission to go out to eat. I do miss people.
Next Monday is Memorial Day. Usually this place is crowded with tourists but I suspect this will be a quiet weekend. The governor is opening manufacturing, construction and churches right away. That is phase one with three more phases to come.
My patience is coming to an end.

Hi kat,
Quarantine fatigue should be the name of a song. The days and nights merge and I only go out to check the mail or sit in the garden.
I see almost no one, except cookie. I stay up late (it is 5 am now) and am on the internet of sleeping most of the time. Phone calls make me believe that there are people out there.
Emma’s Revolution and other singers are streaming on line. I tried to invite you to those– I don’t know if you got the message.
I also play games to take my mind off things..
May I use the words Quarantine fatigue to suggest one of our local songwriters here to put lyrics to it.
Take Care,
Meow and Woof to the rest of your family,

Lori,
You may use it as many of us share quarantine fatigue. I was doing the same thing: up all night and sleep late. I am making an effort to go to bed earlier, but I sleep late anyway. I am trying to clean a bit every day. The laundry is next.
Thanks for trying to invite me.
I play some games as well, but I read more but, after all this time, even that gets tiring.
Take care and be safe!
The rest of my family says Hey.
