I think a parade is in order. Today is warm and lovely. Not a branch is stirring, and the sun owns the sky. I went to get my newspapers without wearing my sweatshirt. This day should be commemorated.
A badge, I want girl scout badges for my efforts. I used to have a sashful of badges, but my sash disappeared over the years. I’m about to start another. I think I have earned the home health badge. I’m sure a worldwide pandemic was never considered when this badge was added so this badge is a slam dunk (a little sport’s metaphor, a small reminder sports exist). I can also add the housekeeper badge, not one to which I have ever aspired. I did it. I cleaned downstairs yesterday. I couldn’t take the mountains of dust anymore. It happened suddenly. I got up to go to the bathroom, but I detoured. I dusted and vacuumed. The animals scattered. Poor Henry couldn’t find a safe spot from the vacuum and my frenzy. I still have to wash the kitchen and bathroom floors.
I find myself talking and even shouting at people on TV. I just told a lady she was wearing the ugliest orange hat. She didn’t respond. So far I have had no responses. My sanity is safe.
I have brought down the laundry from upstairs. That’s one step closer to washing it. I wonder if there is a laundry badge.
I feel accomplished. I brought all of the trash except the bag I’m using to the trunk. I am dusting myself off today. I am going to the dump then I’m taking a ride. I think ice cream is in order. I deserve a treat.

So you want a merit badge for being a responsible adult. 🙂 I want a tell brass trophy with palm leaf clusters. 🙂 Unfortunately, there’s no merit badge for being a victim of sexual abuse in scouting. I think scouting was on life support when they vehemently fought and lost to keep out gay leaders, and then dead when the sexual abuse allocations came out in the 21st. century. 😦
All dogs are fearful of the vacuum cleaner. I don’t think any of our dogs ever figured out that it’s not a monster dredged up from the bowels of hell and wants to kill them. Dogs can remember exactly the location of every bone they ever buried in the backyard but they can’t figure out that the vacuum cleaner goes away into the hall closet every week. 🙂
Today is mostly cloudy with temperatures in the mid 80s. Thunderstorms are forecasted for tonight and tomorrow.

Hi Bob,
I have always been a responsible adult, but all this is above and beyond the expected duties of a responsible adult. Staying in the house or riding in the car just don’t put me in a buoyant mood.
There have been no revelations about Girl Scout leaders being pedophiles. When I was a Girl Scout, I would have heard it from other scouts gossiping about what was happening.
Only one other dog of mine hated the vacuum. She always whacked it figuring she could kill the noisy monster. My other boxers slept right through a house cleaning. Henry isn’t usually nervous, but he has had a weird couple of days.

Yes the Girl Scouts hasn’t had to suffer this embarrassment. I think the Girl Scouts are an offshoot of the Boy Scouts, but I’m not sure. I always thought hawking cookies was a scam. 🙂

The Boy Scouts were founded in England. The Girl Scouts were founded in Georgia, and they were not an offshoot of the Boy Scouts.
The cookie sales were important to my troop. The money we earned went toward lowering the costs of overnight camping, day trips and supplies. No scam!!

Lots of clouds in the sky and I can see that some of them let go of all their water so it’s tricky to guess when to take a walk wit the dogs, so far I’ve been successful in avoiding the falling water. There are lots of sunshine too so I can have the kitchen door open, at least as long as the strong gusts hit te other side of the cottage.

I never did go out but I did some deck cleaning. I also cleaned the floor of the guest room, now the cat’s room. Today I have n o choice but to go to the dump.
