I never knew that a bunch of bananas is called a hand and that on the tree they grow up with the stem at the bottom. I think they are related to the orchard family.

I have seen banana trees with bunches, with hands, hanging up in Africa and Latin America. I was surprised. The ones I’ve seen were in different stages of green with some trees ready t ship.
