“It is easy to decide on what is wrong to wear to a party, such as deep-sea diving equipment or a pair of large pillows, but deciding what is right is much trickier.”
I’ll take today. It is sunny but cool, and I figure after so many cloudy days getting the sun trumps the cool temperature. Right now it is 55˚. The breeze is so strong it is blowing the dog door open, and I can feel the cold air all the way down the hall. It is dump day. I have no choice. The bags already fill the trunk and there’s one more to go. I don’t care. At least it is an outside excursion in the sun.
I’m watching a Nicholas Cage movie which should tell you all you need to know about the film. It’s called Pay the Ghost.
When I was a kid, I had a small black and white TV on the bureau in my bedroom. I’m not so sure small describes it, but small is the best I can do. I’d lie in bed and watch old movies. Maybe watching that old set is why I favor black and white. I remember The House of Wax with Vincent Price scared the hell out of me, yup the hell out of me. When our leading lady whacks Price, his face falls off. That’s when I ran to my parent’s room.
I need to vacuum the house. It is filled with globs of animal hair which swirl in the air whenever I walk. My cleaning couple haven’t come for nearly six weeks so I have been cleaning, but I think I have now developed an allergy to wet mops and dusty brooms.
Henry is now protecting me from barking dogs and car horns on TV. He heard a horn, jumped off the couch, slid into the hall and ran and barked at the door. He wouldn’t stop until I showed him no one was there as Henry is a proponent of the proof is in the pudding.
I had fish and chips for dinner last night. Today I’m hankering for Chinese. Being stuck inside has tickled my taste buds, and I’m thinking of all that stimulus money to spend in the community. I can actually do a pick up and save delivery money as it doesn’t open until 3:30. Wow, the dump and a restaurant all in one day. I think I’ll wear my party dress.

Hi Kat,
Don’t ask me why, but my spouse has refused to order in Chinese food since the Covid-19 stay at home order misery began. However, one day we picked up egg rolls from the drive through Chinese joint. 😦 Sometimes during times of stress logic doesn’t always apply. I think she has sworn off eating at buffet restaurants forever regardless of the kind of cuisine.
I’m amazed at how many idiots are out protesting the orders to separate in various state capitols because of a tweet from his majesty king Trump. Those dopes are disregarding scientific advice along with the possibly of becoming sick to help Trump get re-elected. He realizes that his re-election bid is fading because it’s partly tied to a booming economy and low unemployment. Hopefully, he will be defeated in November because of a microscopic bug rather than the common sense of the American electorate. 🙂 Oh, I forgot that common sense is not always common. 😦
I just started reading “Lyndon Johnson and the American Dream”, by Doris Kearns Goodwin. I chose to read his biography because during his Presidency I hated him even more than I hate Trump. Johnson’s continuing and then escalating our involvement in the Vietnam War was the catalyst that defined our generation. Somehow when your own ass is on the line you become focused on one issue at the expense of the good legislation he got passed and signed.
Today was forcasted to be rainy and cool. Except for one thunderstorm the sun is back out and we hardly had any rain. One of the casualties of this virus is the 90% drop in air travel. The National Weather Service partially bases their forecasts on the many thousands of airliners flying at altitude in the national airspace that are sending meteorological data to the airlines and to the weather forecasters.

Hi Bob,
Chinese take out is one of life’s joys. You’re right in the lack of logic in using pick-up. It would be difficult to explain why all of that makes no sense, starting with refusing carry out.
It never surprises me, the number of idiots who take what Trump says as the word of God. With so much unknown about Covid19, being with other people is probably still dangerous, and now they’re wondering if you can catch it twice. There is a long way to go before the world will be safe again.
It will take a long while before the economy stabilizes. Trump best not rely on the as a reason for his vote. He is already throwing people under the bus.
I have never hated a president the way I do Trump. I disbelieve every word he speaks.
I didn’t know that about the National Weather Service. That’s really interesting.
It was sunny and cold all day.

My guess is that she’s concerned about an employee of the restaurant coming from China and being a carrier. It doesn’t make sense, but sometimes the success of a happy marriage is to just say, ‘yes dear’. It’s also cheaper than getting a divorce. 🙂

I’d get frustrated.

Perfect sunny weather today as well as tomorrow, the next day and so on. Yup, nice but boring. Let’s celebrate yesterday’s weather, we had rain 🙂 Just a little bit of it but finally rain, urgently needed rain. It’s already much too dry and the last months were several degrees warmer than normal.
It’s perfect biking weather too, it was nice to see how nature and landscape had recovered in a part of the suburb where I went to school. The long closed coal pit is nearly gone now, also the most dirty industry and the old creek is renaturated and embedded in a public park. I hope I can still explore a lot more of my town and we won’t get a complete lockdown. The head of our federal state insists on re-opening many stores and schools next week, it will be a feast for the virus.

Birgit,
There are protests here for opening beaches, cities and states. Idiots from Massachusetts are among those protesting despite that the number of cases and the number of dead is still rising here.
We have had tons of rain this winter and spring. That’s a good thing as we had so little snow. The cape is always chilly this time of year as the ocean is still so cold.
I don’t get it. I don’t get the push to reopen early. Maybe if I wasn’t working because of the virus and had no way to pay for food and rent, I might think differently but we’re talking lives. There are plenty of places which are providing food.
