“Air, I should explain, becomes wind when it is agitated.”
I admit to laziness today. It was close to eleven, yup, eleven, when I woke up then I took my time reading my papers and having a couple of cups of coffee. I know I will get little done today. I have no list although I could have a list. That is why I am lazy.
The wind is getting stronger. The forecast includes a high wind warning with south winds 25 to 35 mph and gusts up to 60 mph. The warning went on to say damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines making travel difficult. I wondered who was traveling. The storm could be terrific with heavy rain and winds. Maybe groceries or prescriptions drew people outside. I can’t think of any other reasons.
I have charged my electronics and found my flashlight and lamp. I have e-books and real books you can hold. I won’t run out. I have plenty of food. If need be, I can use my grill. I can sit outside staying warm beside my lit chiminea while keeping an eye on dinner. I have piñon wood to burn in the chiminea. Its aroma will sweeten the air. I know it all sounds amazing, my making the most of it and all, but if the truth be told, I prefer to keep my electricity and my stove. I could light my chiminea but not today. I am lazy today.
My Easter dinner was delicious. It was hmmm out loud delicious. It was a garlic lemon pork tenderloin. Before the oven, I also shook a bit of the odd spices I have from places like India on it. I had forgotten about the small potatoes I had boiled the other day. I added them to the roasting pan about an hour into cooking. I shook some Middle Eastern flavoring on the potatoes and dripped some olive oil on them. I cooked the peas. When I took everything out of the oven, the aromas were mouth-watering. I filled my bunny plate with potatoes, a bit of butter added, peas and slices of meat, cooked perfectly. I had two helpings. There is enough left for at least two more dinners then maybe a few sandwiches if I slice less liberally.
The wind is really whipping everything right now. The trees are swaying back and forth. It is getting dark. A heavy storm is coming and maybe even thunder and lightning, but I don’t worry about rain. I worry about the wind. Pine trees have shallow roots and often fall victim to heavy winds. I’ve lost three trees in front and four or so out back. More will go down out back today. I keep checking out the window.
Take care, my Coffee friends.

Hi Kat,
Sometimes we get lucky. Just before the social distancing order we bought a large package of TP and weren’t completely out. Today my spouse went to Costco and they weren’t crowded and had plenty of TP. I read an article this morning that said that inquiries about bidets had increased by a large percentage. My friend, who is a retired American Airlies pilot, installed a Japanese style toilet when he remodeled his house. His toilet not only has a built in bidet but it also has a seat warmer and warm air fan that dries you after the water cleans your posterior. The Japanese have always been interested in personal hygiene long before we barbaric Europeans dscoved bathing. That’s what I want in my bathroom when I remodel my condo. 🙂
Your Easter dinner sounds delicious. We postponed my daughter and my birthday celebration until summertime.
Today is also clear and cool with a high in the mid 50s.

Hi Bob,
I found plenty of TP in a large package in the cellar. From the top of the stairs, I thought it was paper towels. It was three ply ultra soft TP. A little pampering I guess.
There are plenty of bidet kits being sold in Home Depot and places like that, but they don’t have seat warmers. That sounds almost decadent. I’d like warm towel racks and a warm floor in the bathroom.
Good idea to postpone when it is warm and, I hope, clear of this virus.
My dinner was super delicious. I was pleased as I had randomly used the herbs and spices which I thought went together.
It is still cloudy and chilly.

Ten years from now we will be amazed how the Covid 19 virus upgraded toilets all e country. OMG I can’t use that primitive toilet with no bidet nor heat. 🙂

It think it is attached to your toilet, nothing primitive there.

That Easter dinner was mouth-watering. We had turkey burgers on the grill and pasta salad.
The Segals family visited for about an hour and brought masks. We sat in the backyard and gabbed for awhile. The girls opened their plastic eggs and collected the money which Peg had put inside. I ordered 2 pounds of red jelly beans for Livvy’s birthday on Thursday.
I’m in the middle of painting the master bedroom, and need more paint.🤪

Bill,
Dinner was delicious and so were the leftovers tonight. I have enough for one more dinner and a sandwich or two.
No hunt, just open the eggs. I like that, so much easier. Sarah’s kids went hunting for eggs in their other grandmother’s house. They collected: Declan got $70, Jack $50 and Jamison $30. I’d be happy to join that hunt.
What flavor red? Jelly Belly?
I’m glad you’re staying busy!

Your dinner sounds delicious! I had lamb for Easter, it was a bargain. I like lamb and I like that I can eat lots of garlic in corona times, one benefit of distancing 🙂
When biking through the forests I can see a lot of damaged and dead trees, two dry summers and some minor storms and also bugs that survived the warmer winters left our forests in a bad shape. A part of our biggest town forest is closed because too many dry branches fall down.
Good luck!

Birgit,
Dinner was wonderful. It had amazing flavors. I like lamb but most of my friends don’t so I seldom have it. I went to a Greek Easter one year, and they roasted a lamb which they slathered with butter and lemon. Yum!
We had almost no snow this winter, but we had plenty of rain, and it continues. The wind is what I worry about as it often topples trees.
Check my picture blog. The address is on the side, Here and About.

Hi Kat,
Your Easter dinner sounded very yummy. I might have to splurge on a pork roast soon. It’s been awhile. Maybe some peas, too.
The weather has been wild up here. The dogs and I went for a walk early this morning in a gentle rain. The heavens opened up and the wind roared not long after so we’ve been couch potatoes all day. The rain beating on the windows makes me feel cozy and warm. Two dogs snuggled up to me definitely makes me feel warm and cozy. 🙂
Enjoy the evening.

Caryn,
I hadn’t had a roast in a while so it was perfect for Easter. The meal was totally delicious as were tonight’s leftovers.
The wind has finally stopped. It was howling. I think the rain too has stopped. Everything sounds quiet. Jack and Henry are both asleep down here with me. Gwen is upstairs. I took a nap today. It was a perfect nap day.
Have a wonderful evening!

We had much te same weather here but actually quite a lot of sunshine in between. The winds roared and came from north so it was nasty cold outside, well indoors as well because nothing could keep out that nasty cold.
Your dinner sounds yummy, I had warm sandiches 🙂
Have a great day!
Christer.

Christer,
Yesterday was never a nice day but today was pretty. I went nowhere either day. It was just fine staying at home, just a little boring.
Warm sandwiches for me tonight.
