“Good riddance to bad rubbish.”

I slept late, we’re talking almost noon. My guess would be it was the dump run which did me in. It took me four trips to fill the car then when I was at the dump, it took a while to unload. I had to drag then lift the heavy bags. One bag is still on the deck. It wouldn’t fit.

No sun again today!! The day’s only redeeming factor is it is warmer than it has been.

Color is returning to my world. All the dafs are blooming. The hyacinths are almost ready to bloom. The forsythia has its yellow buds.

I took a ride yesterday on the beach road. This time of year people usually come down to open their summer houses, but most of the houses are still shuttered. Cars were on the main road, but there were only a few riding on the beach road. It reminded me of the dead of winter when the cape slows down, when the tourists have left. The water looked dark and cold, the beach uninviting.

I went to Ring, my favorite grocery store, on my way home as I needed cream and milk. I never get just one thing at Ring so I also bought lamb moussaka, a cinnamon roll and cut fruit, tropical fruit. Henry does enjoy kiwi.

Last night I slid off my bed. I woke up and realized I was headed for the floor so I tried to grab the other side of the mattress, but I couldn’t reach it so I slid to the floor. Henry slid with me. We weren’t hurt. It was the mattress topping, the egg crate, which had moved to the middle of the bed so half of it was hanging off, my half. I have to figure out how to keep it from moving.

Today is a bit different than yesterday. I won’t be going anywhere, and my list of chores is simple: bring up the clean laundry, change the bed, water my plants and fill the bird feeders. I think I’ll sit outside for a little while, maybe play fetch with Henry. I got dressed yesterday. I don’t have to today.

We had much more sunshine than they had predicted so the tempertaure rose to 59F and I could have the kitchen door open almost all day ๐Ÿ™‚ I don’t know what happened in my brain but I went out to clean up after the dogs and suddenly I started to mow the lawn!! I even enjoyed doing it until the first big fly landed in my hair. I don’t know why but flies seems to love me ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve been close to slid of my beds several nights now and only because the dogs tries to push me off :.-) ๐Ÿ™‚

Yesterday I went to visit a friend who have bought a garden center. It’s about 25 miles away and on the way there I met one car and I had perhaps two cars behind me. Not so strange perhaps since it was early on a Saturday morning. On my way home however I met thre cars and a tractor. Can’t remember when there were so few cars on the roads and we can still move around as we please.

    Have a great day!

Are you also practicing social distancing?

      Hi Christer,
I thought we were going to get some sun but the clouds came back. It is only 42หš but the air is still so it feels warmer.

I have no idea how to keep the topper from moving off the mattress. When I take the cover off, I might have an idea.

The garden centers have curbside delivery as all the stores are closed. Many stores like that, hardware stores too, have curb pick up. I hope they can hang on until they are allowed to open.

Nothing smells as wonderful as fresh mown grass!

    Hi Kat,

Everyday since I started working from home I slept late. Now that Iโ€™m furloughed I have been sleeping 12 or more hours. I guess itโ€™s a defense against boredom. Less time being awake to do nothing. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ Itโ€™s a good thing I donโ€™t have a paper calendar on the wall or I would be crossing off the days until June 26th like a convict.

Today we stopped at the bankโ€™s ATM and the elderly woman in the car in front of us was wearing rubber gloves. However, as she was operating the keypad she was touching her face with the gloves. Lot of good the gloves were doing for her except as a fashion statement..

Wearing a mask is another silly idea. If you donโ€™t wash it after each use, any virus on the mask will remain and if you touch the fabric you will contaminate yourself taking it off or putting it back on. After all if itโ€™s good enough for Trump to go without a mask, itโ€™s good enough for me. ๐Ÿ™‚ I wonder if there is now a run on disposable face masks.

Did the Ring grocery store have TP? Hoarding TP is so bad here that Dallas County has imposed a one package TP limit per customer. If I wanted to hoard something it would be Oreo cookies. The real scary hoarders are stocking up on ammunition awaiting for the hoards of unwashed who will be attacking their fortress and TP stockpile. ๐Ÿ™‚

Still cloudy with a slight chance of rain.

      Hi Bob,
I usually sleep 8 hours. When I worked, I didn’t have the 8 hours and I was always tired. I used to record programs beyond 9 as I was usually in bed. 5 was when I woke up.

I find little things to do which seem to make the time pass. Today I dusted some shelves and doo-dads. The feeders are next. I love all the time I have to read.

Some places are mandating the masks. If that happened here, I’d want disposable masks so maybe I should stock up!

Ring had TP. I know there was a limit of one a couple of weeks ago when I bought some, but I don’t know about now as I didn’t go that way in the store.

      Still cloudy!

I’m sorry you had no sun again but the sun was here and busy. It was a beautiful warm spring day today, perfect for a long bike ride. Fields, old farms, an old chapel and more. The Rapeseed is already in flower. It’s not a hotspot for recreation and not so many people were there.
In this region the current rule is that two persons respectively a family can be near together but you have to keep distance to others. (About 1.5 – 2 meters, whatever that is in US units.) That’s okay. Other regions have a stay-at-home order (for political reasons, not for medical reasons) which is especially bad for kids and women.
Meanwhile I sewed a less ugly face mask which I wear when I think it might help. Shopping once or twice a week for instance. Sure, a DIY-mask isn’t perfect but if it helps a little bit, why not?

      Birgit,
I thought we’d have sun late in the afternoon. We didn’t. It even got colder. I figure the clouds mimic how we’re all feeling. I’ve been out twice in two weeks. Yesterday I actually went into the grocery store.

2 meters is a little bit longer than 6 feet, the social distance here or what is supposed to be. There are people ignoring the day at home rule. Some cities have taken to fine them. Boston just started a curfew.

There are 8 states without stay in place orders, all with republican governors. They are risking lives as isolation has been proved to slow the virus.

Some people wear masks. I don’t only because I don’t have one. My friend told me everyone in the pharmacy was wearing one. Only oe person in my market was wearing one. I figure that will be next.

A taste of summer. Frank’s classic expression. The Isley Brothers with my favorite, but War coming on strong a close second and maybe the most evocative of the season. Billy Stewart for surprise. Wonderful.

      Rowen,
Just listening to summer songs gave me a lift. I always like to mix and match my offerings. I think War got my first vote then Billy Stewart who is new to me.
