“Blossom by blossom the spring begins.”
I was a bit shocked when I went to get the papers. It is far colder than I expected, 37Λ, and I gasped when I got outside. The day is sunny for a change so I was duped by good old Mother Nature in thinking warmth. I’m glad I’m in my warm house though it almost wasn’t warm. It has been a weird morning. I slept late and missed my 11 o’clock call to my sister. We did connect a little later. She has snow. My thermostat was stuck on some unknown number. I took off the cover and noticed batteries. I didn’t even know it had batteries. I found a couple of new ones and replaced the old. My house is getting warmer.
Yesterday I ate my piece of chocolate cake. I also ate a Payday. It was a salty-sweet test with no real results. I liked both of them equally though the Payday was an unexpected surprise. I can’t remember the last time I had one. The salted peanuts were the first bite. The caramel was next. Every bite was delicious. I finished it, but I had one more for later. My new mantra is treat yourself well.
I am suffering the loss of baseball. It is a sport I enjoy watching and the sport I know the most about, rules and plays and such. Right now I am watching ES2, the Brat Eating Contest from 2006, a new sport for me.
I remember getting the measles when I was a kid and having to lie in bed in a dark room, no lights, shades down. It was torture. I couldn’t read. I couldn’t watch television. My mother knew about measles and eyes. She was part of the mothers’ medical network. This time she was right, unlike the don’t go going swimming after eating or you’ll die of cramps rule.
My daffodils have flowered in the front garden. They are so bright, so yellow. I have different colored tulips from the florist. I ordered them with the groceries. Food for the body. Flowers for the senses.

Even colder here this morning than yesterday but no wind and sunshine all day made it really pleasant. Two long walks with the dogs made it even better, I even had to open up my jacket because of the heat from the sun. Now I only hope that the nights can become a bit warmer too.
I too remember when I had the measles but since we only had sunshine in the very early mornings and rather dark the rest of the day I still could read thankfully. We had no tv programs before late afternoon back then, especially not any childrens programs so without books I would have gone crazy π π π
Have a great day!
Christer.

Christer,
This is the coldest day in a while. We have been spoiled by days in the 40’s and 50’s. My sister in Colorado got snow. It was 70Λ there last week.
No wind is the key to a better day especially during the spring here when it can get so chilly.
We had no lights with the measles so no reading.
Enjoy your day!

Some 32 years ago, a very pregnant Mrs MDH and I made our way to the Joe Louis Arena for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Bandβs Tunnel of Love stop. There were two nights March 28 and 29 1988…we went the first night. Bruce now has a habit of releasing live shows and just rolled out the complete performance on that Monday night
It dropped in to our mail box yesterday and today our neighbors have had the chance to hear 3 1/2 hours of Bruce at his finest. The show is fantastic. Mrs MDH and I are wondering what we remembered exactly from that night. Still the document is here and Bruce is lighting up the airwaves.
We had planned to host a baby shower yesterday, it was all going to be rather lovely for our son and daughter in law. Cancelled it was and we did a FaceTime with Denver
Time for some Brian Eno ambient music which will precipitate a big boy nap

My Dear Hedley,
That is a wonderful memory. Mrs. MDH has been quite the sport for a while now. but she certainly has gotten to see mighty music.
Go right ahead and blast that music. You deserve it, with your history and all.
My sister’s five year old granddaughter face-timed her. She is quite comfortable with her electronics.
I am taking it easy.
