Winter holds sway. Yesterday was windy and cold, really cold. I did my errands quickly so I could return to hearth and home. The day is a pretty one still cold but much less windy.
I have plenty of books to read, and there are B science fiction movies to watch. Right now it’s acid rain that eats through cars, buildings and people. It is really awful so I’m enjoying it
My dance card has been empty of late. The only entry most weeks is Sunday game night. I do errands but reluctantly. Winter puts me into a bit of a stupor.
My father worked for Hood Ice Cream. He became the manager in Hyannis which is why we moved to the cape. We ate a lot of ice cream. I remember my father once brought home a pint, and my sister wanted to know if it was for dolls. My father loved vanilla ice cream with Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup, lots of chocolate syrup. My favorite is mint chocolate chip though I did go through a mocha phase for a while. I think the only ice cream I don’t eat is butter pecan.
I’m staying in my cozy clothes. I have a book I’ve almost finished and a new one I got yesterday. I have plenty of food to keep me nourished like plantain chips, pizza, crackers and cheese and one frozen ice cream bar.
I do have to fill the bird feeders. A cardinal couple drops by most days as do the stalwart chickadees and nuthatches.
Henry seems to love this weather. He goes several times a day and runs all over the yard. I envy his energy.
I’m now watching a movie called Ice which is the whole plot. Sorry about the spoiler.

It has suddenly started to blow really hard here and the gusts even hit my cottage every now and again, the walls are trembling. Just an hour ago it was totally calm here but then it rained a lot instead. Warmish though so I’m not complaining ๐
I do like rum raisin ice cream but plain vanilla is always right ๐ I’ve never been fond of any of the syrups one can pour over though.
I’m mostly half asleep in front of the tv ๐ I would like to see a really bad movie or even a really good one but I’m afraid I’ll miss most of it because of my tendency to fall asleep in front of the tv every evening ๐

The pine trees have shallow roots. I always worry about them when the wind is strong. I lost one last year which just missed my house.
This time of year the rain seems ominous. The day is just so dark before the fierce rains start.
I’ve been watching Amazon Prime which has so many bad science fiction movies. I love it.

Hi Kat,
Here the weather has warmed up to seventy degrees under partly cloudy skies. Unfortunately, my classroom is about 45 degrees so I am wearing my coat in the classroom and will take it off when I go outside. ๐
I love ice cream especially if it has chocolate in or on it. ๐ When I was in high school I sold Good Humor ice cream from a tricycle peddle bike. I had to peddle the box two miles to and from the shopping area where I sold the ice cream bars. It was hot and humid and I ate all my profits. I think we have some rocky road ice cream in the freezer for desert….mmmm

Hi Bob,
It is the second cold day in a row. I don’t even want to be outside at all. 30หas a high leaves a whole lot to be desired.
I also love ice cream and go on flavor kicks where I eat the same flavor for a while then switch to another flavor for a while. I also like chocolate ice cream. We have some wonderful ice cream shops. The coconut at one of those stores is so good it’s to die for.
