“What’s the point of complaining? We live in the north. Winter exists.”
It is quite late I know because I had to be out and about early then I came home and did my usually morning stuff like the papers and a couple of cups of coffee. I added English muffins to the mix on which I slathered a royal fig fruit spread which raised the muffins to an ethereal level. I ration the fig spread.
Snow is coming again. The first storm will only drop around 2 inches, but the second snow storm on Saturday will be a combination of rain and snow, a wintry mix here on the cape. North of us could get hit with as many as 9 inches of snow. There is still time to pack your bags and move. As for me, I’ll hunker down after a quick trip for provisions which include chocolate and maybe a piece of pie.
Henry has turned another corner. The last one was when he started following me even into the bathroom so he can get patted and scratched. When I got home today, he came out of the den to greet me. That was a first.
I am watching The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind. It takes place in Malawi, but one scene is the same as one of my memories of Ghana. To prove that a child is old enough for school when there are no records, the child has to put his right hand across the top of his head and touch his left ear.
Now I have to hunt for my mukluks.

Hi Kat,
Coincidentally, someone was talking about The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind just last night in knitting group. I’ll have to check it out.
Yay for Henry making progress!
I have to do the grocery run today along with all the other French Toast shoppers. I don’t want to be caught without snow storm survival supplies. Coffee, chips, ice cream. Important stuff like that. 😀
Enjoy the evening.

Hi Caryn,
I liked the movie. It is a combination of a tribal language with subtitles and English. I noticed the differences between Malawi and Ghana, even in construction of houses, but the similarities were even more apparent.
I’m so happy with Henry except for his gnawing me when I wake up. I haven’t yet figured out how to stop him. No means nothing.
The grocery run didn’t happen. I lost the ambition to go out when I saw how little snow we’ll get tomorrow. Also, I am up for appetizers for Sunday’s game night so I need to add the ingredients to the shopping list for tomorrow afternoon. Coffee is on my list as is bread. Now I want to add ice cream!!
Have a great evening!

Piki Dog was a gnawer and nipper at first. When he’d grab my hand I’d gently push it right to the back of his mouth and say Leave it! He’s stopped the gnawing. He will sometimes nip when he’s over-excited but nothing like he used to. I don’t know if it would work with Henry. Piki’s not a shy dog and doesn’t take corrections personally. He’s a bit pushy to be honest.

Hi Kat,
Henry assumes that you are part of his permanent pack. That’s a good sign.
It’s been cold here but we haven’t had any snow, ice nor sleet yet this winter. Knock on wood and don’t leave your rabbit’s foot at home. March is supposed to be part of Spring not a continuation of winter. After all it’s only a month until opening day, 😦 I would assume that the scheduling gods of MLB would have the Sox, open the season on the road just in case it snows at Fenway as an April fools joke. 🙂
More clouds and a slight chance of rain this weekend.

Hi Bob,
It is a good sign about Henry. I knew it would take time for him to completely adjust so I’m happy for every step forward for him.
The cape doesn’t really have a spring so March and April can be really chilly. We love the ocean effect in the fall but aren’t so happy with it deferring spring. The Sox do open on the road because there is no expectation for a warm season by the end of March.
We have storm advisories with the first storm by 8 or 9 tomorrow morning. We’ll get 1-3 inches because it will turn to rain here. The second storm starts Sunday night, and we c our get as many as 9 inches. I’ll survive!

Clear sky and cold this morning, the sun won’t rise for yet another hour but I hope we’ll get some sunshine today.
I’ve just had my first cup of coffee but I feel I might need one more before we take our morning walk. Everyone else is sleeping at the moment, both Nova and Albin are sleeping here in the kitchen. Both wanted the space between the kitchen table and the radiator but it was Albin who managed to get it 🙂 Sune is most likely sleeping upstairs in y bed and the cats most likely in the living room.
Good for Henry 🙂
HGave a great day!
Christer.

Christer,
No sunshine for us, just snow!!
Gracie shared the bed and couch with Fern. Maddie slept on the table in the den under the warmth of the light. Henry can pick anywhere, but he stays with me in the den and is on the couch. He follows me to bed and sleeps there every night.
Have a sunny day!
