Laura Ingalls Wilder quote

All the department stores had their windows decorated for Christmas. In the 1950s the windows were decorated with moving elves and Santas. They had electric trains moving around the decorations. Today the decorated windows would not attract kids today who live in an internet and social media world. π

Bob,
I think little kids would still have a sense of wonder. My sister’s whole family went to North Pole. Her grandkids all saw Santa, visited the village and rode the kid size rides. They had the best time. Next day they went on a train ride modeled on the Polar Express. It was great fun. At night they sat around the fire and had s’mores. The weekend was wonderful for the whole family.
The younger kids didn’t miss their iPads.

My favorite shtick for little kids is the βElf on the Shelfβ. A spy from Santa is a parents dream. π

Bob,
My niece’s two older boys have elves. I forget the names the elves were given, but the names are funny and not at all elfish. The younger boy, Jack, was misbehaving so his elf didn’t return in the morning. He stayed at the North Pole. Jack decided he’d best behave so his elf would come back. My niece said the only problem was finding hiding spots which would take a little while before the boys found their elves.
