    Ewan MacColl wrote this for Peggy Seeger. The breakthrough recording, 10 years before this stupendous Flack version was by the Kingston Trio. But here is Peggy:

      I think I knew that about Ewan but have since forgotten. I didn’t know about The Kingson Trio.

      This version is lovely. It is different from the Flack version, which is my favorite, but I like this nearly as much.
