“Morning comes whether you set the alarm or not.”
When I woke up, it seemed early. The morning air had a sense about it I could feel through the open window. I checked the clock. It was 8:45, not so early for some but early for me. Henry and I got up and went downstairs, and the routine began. First, clean up the cat’s puppy pads then let Henry out to the backyard. Feeding Henry and Maddie is next. Both stay in the kitchen impatiently waiting for breakfast. Henry turns circles. Maddie meows over and over. I tend to them then finally I make coffee and go outside for the papers. They settle down for morning naps, and I read my papers.
Today it’s 70Λ but feels cooler because of the dampness, because of the wind and the clouds. Rain is predicted for this afternoon.
Yesterday I did errands. I made five stops and felt accomplished. When I got home, I did a few odd chores which did not include the laundry. It is still by the cellar door. The pile gets bigger every day because I add more laundry.
I had toast with my coffee this morning. It was spread with grape jelly made by my friend Peg. I tend to be a bit stingy with the jelly so it will last longer.
I used to turn on the news each morning. Now I watch something mindless, something needing little attention from me as I read the papers and write Coffee.
My sandals are back out of the closet. It has been quite warm the last few days. I’ve also put the flannel shirts away and replaced them with short sleeve shirts. It is a bit of summer in October.
Every morning I find stuffing from my down comforter on the floor. It falls out of Henry’s chewed holes. I used to restuff then sew the holes closed, but I’ve given up doing that. The comforter is so old that everything is clumped and even sneakers in the dryer don’t help. It’s time for a new comforter with a duvet cover so Henry won’t have anything to chew.
Henry is barking at the front door so I’m going to check for intruders. I never find any so his barking is usually a mystery, but I still check anyway. There’s always that one time.

We have a bit of summer over here too π Almost 68F and sunshine today. The wind is a bit strong so many trees have lost most of their leafs now but they still hang around here where the wind almost never reach π
Albin is actually sitting still now when he’s waiting for his food, now it is Sune that is all over the kitchen π π He’s also the one making most noise while Albin only grunts a bit π
Yes I too always check if Albin barks by the door, no one is ever there here either but as You say, it is always that one time.
Have a great day!
Christer.

Christer,
I’m going to like this weather as it will change over the weekend. By next week, the evenings could get as low as the 30’s. It has been raining all afternoon.
Henry gets antsy when it is time to eat. Maddie comes to the kitchen as she gets a bit of the gravy from Henry’s canned food.
Today Henry barked at the UPS guy. I’m glad he did as I wouldn’t have known he’d left packages of the step.
Have a great evening!!

I was having a not untypical Lennie free day when the net started popping up with the release of his new book “The Flame”, a series of rumblings and poetry from beyond the grave. Seems that our Lennie took a serious pop at Kanye West aka Mr Kardashian and well known Trump lover (he’s my Daddy) Anyway on a Fall afternoon who doesn’t want a reflection from Mr C
Kanye West is not Picasso
I am Picasso
Kanye West is not Edison
I am Edison
I am Tesla
Jay-Z is not the Dylan of Anything
I am the Dylan of anything
I am the Kanye West of Kanye West
The Kanye West
Of the great bogus shift of bullshit culture
From one boutique to another
I am Tesla
I am his coil
The coil that made electricity soft as a bed
I am the Kanye West Kanye West thinks he is
When he shoves your ass off the stage
I am the real Kanye West
I donβt get around much anymore
I never have
I only come alive after a war
And we have not had it yet

My Dear Hedley,
Lennie was ahead of the times in his Kanye West poem. There he was, Kanye, in the White House wearing his damn maga hat and hugging Trump who seemed surprised and uncomfortable. They deserve each other.
Kudos,Lennie!!

It is hard to know the vileness level for Mr Kardashian and Daddy Trump. They are clogging up NBC nightly news

Spaceman,
I just couldn’t believe the mouth on West in the Oval Office.

Kanye a free spirit. Prime evidence he’s married to one of those Kardashian girls. Nuclear grade women – can withstand earthquakes and tsunamis. Fukishima did not

Spaceman,
I noticed he also had his cell phone which I thought was not allowed. He admits to being off his meds.

Hi Kat,
It was pretty nice here this morning. Not sunny but still tee shirt warm. I took the dogs to the lake for a ramble and they were very excited. They met an old friend and had a romp. We got back to the jeep as a few sprinkles of rain fell. Nothing more than that though. Later on, I went to the door to let the dogs out only to see a veritable deluge going on. Nobody wanted to go out at that point.
Otherwise it’s been an empty dance card week. All I’ve done is some dishes and read a couple of books. Not bad.
My dogs run to the front door to bark for everything. When the opening theme music for Cook’s Country comes on, Piki Dog runs to the front door and barks. The sound is supposed to be a church bell ringing but he thinks someone’s at my door. π
Enjoy the evening.

Hi Caryn.
The day stayed cloudy then we had the same deluge. The weather man is saying the cape will have the most rain as the storm will last longer here, into tomorrow. We could get as much as 3 to 5 inches.
Henry actually goes out in the rain, the first dog I’ve had who doesn’t mind the rain.
This is the quiet time for me. My dance card is empty for next week as well. I did have that one meeting this week and the errands yesterday, but they don’t count much.
Henry seems mostly to bark at nothing. I go check and usually don’t see anyone up or down the street though he did bark at the UPS guy today. I found two packages on the steps. Sometimes he scares me as I wasn’t expecting his frenzied bark.
Have a wonderful evening!
