Yep, only the “rich” kids got the box of 64. I think I made it to 48 one year. I just checked and there are now boxes with 96 (plus 4 bonus = 100) and 120 crayons. Swoon!

When I was a kid, the school always listed crayons on our supply lists.
Colored pencils are far easier to work with. I could really nuance colors with them.

Everyone in elementary grades wanted the big box with the built in sharpener. I never got it.

I got the big box for Christmas, not for the start of school. I was okay with that, less to carry.

I got the big set of 64 once, for Christmas.
I can’t fathom so may crayons as 100 in a box. I’d be stupefied by trying to choose the right color.
