    The U2 song It’s a beautiful day is an obvious steal of Mr E’s Beautiful Blues from Daisies of the Galaxy. It was the Eels song showing up on a football (soccer) show that had me chase the band back in 2000

    I like the U2 song but goodness it is a theft

      I didn’t do this on purpose. Songs get to Coffee based on the theme of the day. This fit it perfectly. If I had known it is the result of thievery, I would not have posted it.

        I was surprised to read this comment, since I hadn’t heard about U2 being accused of stealing the Eels’ music. While both songs came out in 2000, I didn’t find any accusations or even rumors about it being an infringement, so I think “theft” might be a strong word for it.

        Hedley seems to have an unbelievable knowledge of groups. He introduced me to the Eels. I didn’t do the research you did so thanks for spending the time. I agree about infringement accusations. Maybe Hedley’s obvious is the clue that it is his opinion.
