Golly gosh, The Small Faces. The only one left is the drummer Kenney Jones. Mac, Plonk and Little Stevie Marriott came out of the East End and were fab gear
In my first job as a bank clerk, I worked with a couple of girls who grew up with Marriott and talked about roughing him up but also going to Top of the Pops with him
I only saw Marriott once and that was at the Finsbury Park Rainbow with Humble Pie. It was a recording for American TV and there are fragments of the show on YouTube.
When Marriott left the Small Faces, Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood joined the band so I saw The Faces plenty of times. It was a great boozy night out of R&B sort of like being on the terraces watching g football
This was a great pick today Kat, thank you

My Dear Hedley,
I thought of you when I chose this song. I knew you’d be pleased. One of the comments below the song did mention that most of the band members had passed.
I am always amazed at how a musician plays for one group then moves on to another and maybe even a third. I’m reminded of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
You are always welcome!
