Many great covers of this beautiful song. Jo perhaps the best. And Patsy Cline does it justice as well

This is the singer my mother played. She had a Jo Stafford album and a hifi early on, a gift from my dad. I remember Shrimp Boats and I can even sing along.

Not very familiar with Jo. She’s good. The singers of that time period are enjoyable to listen to.

My brother and I once joked we were probably the only people our ages who knew all the words to Shrimp Boat probably her best known song.

Funny about knowing all the words as kids I ‘m sure I know the song. I had an uncle on my mother’s side that operated a shrimper out of Biloxi for decades.

It is actually a neat song. “Shrimp boars are a comin’. There’s dancing tonight!”
