Spaceman,
My song is actually the mirror image of this one. I remember starting with playmate, come out and play with me and bring your dollies three. Climb up my apple tree. Cry down my rain barrel,
Slide down my cellar door. And we’ll be jolly friends
Forever more.
The original song was this one and was written by Philip Wingate
and H.W. Petrie in 1894.
Well I guess you would be friends. Interesting that it was a song that children sang. It was turn of the century (1894) tune. Thanks for the personal background. Ciao

You know I fancy Peg. This is a peculiar song – 1910ish sounding

Spaceman,
I actually sang this when I was a kid. I figure my mother must have taught it to me.

Indeed. How interesting. It does sound like it could be a children’s rhyme.

Spaceman,
I hadn’t thought of the song in years. I do remember singing it with my mother.
