Look at the horse droppings on the street. Imagine how much horse poop had to be cleaned up every day in the 19th Century in big cities like NY and Boston?:-)

Bob,
The horse poop is why I chose this picture. After writing about my dad, I needed a poop picture.
I imagine all the streets had poop piles. Walking across from one side to the other must have been like walking through land mines of a sort.
