Los Lobos are one of those bands you have to see live. Every now and again they tour with Los Lonely Boys and Henry Garza will join Lobos and all hell breaks loose. Los Lobos always hang around after their shows to say hi and sign stuff. All rather wonderful.
If you go to a concert, you can make a “request” through their website. They played Meadowbrook so I asked for “Saint behind the glass” and low and behold they played it….
What is Saint behind the Glass you might ask…..well this is..

My Dear Hedley,
I can tell by the videos that they have to be seen live. They seem to project a visible energy.
I only know a few of their songs, not this one, but I am glad to know it now. I don’t think I could have identified them on this video.

Heck – one of the oldest songs around. A staple of every high school band in the 60’s. Because it’s a pretty good song and easy to play.
Here’s another standard dance tune. The Swinging Medallions played for ages – big favorite dance band of southern colleges. I think the B-52s in more modern times.

Spaceman,
I know this song. I even know the words, and I do remember dancing to it. Great post!
