Mrs MDH and I, and another couple, were in Hong Kong, and a taxi driver was taking us out of the city to one of the small seaside towns. Anyways he was quietly playing Deep Purple, but it took no encouragement from me for him to crank it up – Next thing you know we are blasting through the streets, blasting “Woman from Tokyo” and 55 of us were having a sing-song and really a rather lovely time
Great Pick Kat, I am about to play it rather loud and scare the bajeebers out of my office

MDH,
I guessed your taxi did not have 55 people.

My Dear Hedley,
I am always happy when I post a song you like and one which carries memories for you. I love your story!!
It takes me a long time to choose the songs. I listen to several until I find my four.
Go ahead scare them!!

I just FaceTimed my friends in Florida and asked “Deep Purple, Woman from Tokyo” ? and they responded “Taxi Driver in Hong Kong”

Bet you thought I was going to comment on the Beach Boys song, but I’m full of surprises today. The only Deep Purple song I can fathom is “Child in Time,” which I recommend for any future set when “time” might be your theme. Today I’m passing along the song that always comes to my mind when I think of “Japan” songs. It’s a little ditty from 1980 which I think holds up quite well.

im6,
I did think you might take a bow! I always think of you when I post the Boys!
I woud not have been able to place this song in time. It has a contemporary sound to me. I like it!
