minicapt,
I always hitched on secondary roads like Route 1 or Route 1A. I seldom ever went on the turnpike in a car let alone thumbing my way.

In today’s world hitch hiking is extremely stupid and dangerous. Getting into a car or truck with a stranger is just asking for trouble.

Bob,
I know that and were I still a teen, I’d never hitch.
