    This song calls for a little background on the woman who wrote this song (and many others), Libby Titus. Such an interesting life she’s led… girlfriend of The Band’s Levon Helm, Dr. John (Mac Rebennack), and for the past 30 years, Steely Dan’s Donald Fagen. She never achieved stardom as a singer (she’s was quite good IMO), but she wrote some great music, often in collaboration with other artists. Here she is singing what’s probably her most famous song (co-written with Eric Kaz).

      She has a great voice. I haven’t ever heard of her so I appreciate the introduction and the background.

      You do introduce me to amazing gems!

      I listened to a few versions of this song and really liked Three Dog Night’s which I hadn’t heard before this.
