minicapt,
That was very close to the sprinkler my dad had, but I think it might have had another arm or two. Our water was higher than in the photo. We liked the jump.

Was there ever such a treat as running through the sprinklers ?

My Dear Hedley,
It was one of the joys of summer.

Running through the sprinkler was fun when I was kid in the 1950s and for my kids in the 1990s.

Bob,
Running through the sprinkler was a summer ritual. I do remember how cold it was until the sun warmed the hose making the water a little warmer. My sister’s grandkids also run through the hose now.

Gnu,
I don’t know this song at all. I do like Bob Seger so I wonder how I missed it.

Gnu,
Great choice! The beat is just great, and I even remember the words.

Gnu,
I went through a couple of John Denver phases. I liked him then I thought he was a little too corny then I liked him again, and that’s where I am, liking him.

Gnu,
I’m not a country fan, but I have always liked this song. It is heartfelt.
