To me it’s not really New Year’s Eve until I hear this song by Guy Lombardo and his Royal Canadians. He used to play it from the Empire Room of the Waldorf Hotel in NYC.
You and I are probably the last generation to remember Guy Lombardo, or even big band music.
Actually, there are a lot of big bands still around. Many are University jazz bands such as the famous One O’Clock Lab band from the University of North Texas in Denton Texas. UNT has been the number one music school in the country for jazz music since the 1950s.

Bob,
I had to play Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians as they, as you said, are New Year’s Eve.
I only know big bands because of my mother. Maybe this generation will pass the sound along just as the last one did.

Bob,
I knew there were some around but didn’t know specifically where. Maybe they are all in your neck of the woods.
