Gnu,
I like KFC, but there isn’t one all that close to me. This was really interesting. I like the one about the popularity of the Colonel. Strange about the chicken in Japan on Christmas.

Gnu,
I am not a fan of McDonald’s. There isn’t one in my town because there is a limit to the number of drive-up windows and it is maximized now.
I was assistant principal of the year in Massachusetts in 1998. McDonald’s sponsored the award. I flew to Chicago where a limo met me and took me to McDonald University. I stayed at the hotel there. There were 51 of us: 1 from each state and 1 from DC. We had break-out sessions every day. At night there were special events. One was an evening trip to the Field Museum. Each of us had a picture with Ronald. We posed for a whole group picture. The final event was a wonderful dinner where we were given our awards. I may not eat at McDonald’s but I have a warm place in my heart for the company.

Gnu,
Wendy’s is a distance from me, but if I am ever in Orleans, I stop and get something there for lunch.

Gnu,
My town does have a Burger King. I don’t eat there often, but I do like some of their menu.
I was surprised it is owned by a donut company.

Gnu,
I don’t think I have ever eaten at one of these as there are none on the cape.
I thought this a clever commercial.

Gnu,
I like ordering weird stuff at Starbucks. I wish some of the fast food restaurants were here. The cape is tipping over from Burger King and McDonald’s. There is still one A&W where I get hot dogs and root beer and a Dairy Queen.

minicapt,
The two men looked delighted to see their slide rule again.
There is a museum for everything!!

Pilots have been using a circular slide rule with aviation functions since WWII called an E6b. Today’s flight students use iPad apps and GPS and haven’t a clue about a slide rule. Unfortunately, I’m not sure how much they know about basic pilotage and dead reckoning navigation which might come in handy when their battery dies or the GPS satellites are down for maintenance. 🙂

Bob,
I think the reliance on pure technology can be a problem just as you described.
I remember seeing movies with scenes in the cockpit. I think it was the navigator who used the slide rule. I’d forgotten that until you mentioned its use in earlier aviation.

minicapt,
I suspect my poor skills at using math toys would be glaring if I had to use this.

Bob,
Maybe you need this for your iPad.

Gnu,
I delete the photos after I use them so I forget which ones have already been posted. You have a great memory.
