I have gone to the Barnstable County Fair and the Topsfield Fair. Neither has as much as the Washington State Fair though Barnstable does have rides and all the tents for competitions like quilting, baking and flower arranging. It has competitions for the best raised animals like pigs and steers. The tractor pull always draws a crowd.
