The Far Side of the Hill: The Limeliters

Glenn Yarbrough has passed away at age 86. I first heard him when he was a member of The Limeliters. I think I was a freshman in high school. Folk music had become popular, and I was hooked and have been ever since.

Here is his obituary from The New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/13/arts/music/glenn-yarbrough-folk-singer-with-the-limeliters-dies-at-86.html?_r=0

I never really listened to their music, I think it was too old new folk music for me since I started later.

      Birgit,
It was Peter, Paul and Mary which got me into folk music then I went back to Woody and then on from there. The time was filled with wonderful trios like The Kingston Trio, The limeliters and so many more. It was the golden age of folk, and I loved it.
