minicapt,
You were quick on the picture!
This is one of my favorite rain songs because it starts with a rain storm and thunder. I didn’t play it as I have a few times so I looked for new ones to Coffee. Thanks!!

If you like songs with storms, maybe you’ll like this one… do you remember this original mono version from 1961?

This may get me laughed off KTCC, but I’m recommending this anyway… Very, very, very atmospheric, this was enormously popular in 1965 and is still one of my all-time favorite albums (link plays the full album). Nothing quite like it back then. Really “pretty” and possibly the ultimate “make-out” music. Presenting The Mystic Moods Orchestra with “One Stormy Night.” Some background:
In 1961 an approaching thunderstorm over Los Angeles was the impetus for this remarkable recording. With two EV Studio Microphones & an Ampex 601 Recorder, all the drama of the spectacular thunderstorm & gentle rainfall was captured. The Mystic Moods Orchestra, under the direction of Don Ralke, then provided the appropriate romantic musical accompaniment. In the final mix down at Golden State Recorders, in San Francisco, the Stereo sounds of the storm were fed over channels 1 & 4, and the music into channels 2 & 3, with both being synchronized exactly so that music climaxes coincided with similar storm crescendos. The result is the most ultimate must-have bachelor pad album ever created for setting the tender trap.

im6,
I do remember this song, but I’d forgotten how great the rain is at the beginning.
I liked this song, but I can’t believe it was as far back as 1961.

im6,
I close my eyes and can imagine the whole scene. I can hear this music playing and can see the room lit only by the fireplace. The shadows of the flames are dancing across the wall. Two people are sharing a bottle of wine, red wine. They clink their glasses, take a sip then smile as they both put their glasses down. Their faces draw close and their lips meet.
The rest is up to your imaginations!
It is actually a lovely album.

It’s actually good music to go to sleep by, also. But I like your soft porn scenario better! You captured the era perfectly.

im6,
I can hear how easily it would be to fall asleep with.
That scenario was not difficult to imagine.

Perfect timing for music to go to sleep by. Good Night!

Sleep well, Birgit!
