Charles Dickens quote
February 23, 2016 at 1:27 pm
It has been a lazy snow free winter in Detroit, with barely 21″ to report so far (it was over 100″ two years ago) and that is with a foot having fallen in early November.
BUT, snowmageddon is being predicted for the next two days, as some storm sweeps up from the south and takes aim at SE Michigan. The office is over stimulated, the weather men and babes are going bonkers and we could see 12″ of really heavy wet stuff.
The Jeep is gassed – I will turn the driving conditions switch to “snow” if it happens.
We are nearly out of February, Verlander is looking Verlander and I can handle this.

My Dear Hedley,
We had the same snowless winter. Last year Boston had 110 inches of snow. This year Boston had about 24″.
The worst is that heavy wet stuff. On the news they said a shovel full of it is equal to 5 to 50 pounds depending on the snow. Good thing you have a snow blower.
A foot of snow this time of year is always a bit heartbreaking to me. I’m usually thinking spring. My Dad died in March and on the day of his funeral there were no school days on the cape due to a huge storm. We had rain where my dad had lived.
Be careful driving!!
My paper is filled with baseball. I am thrilled.

Gnu,
I had to laugh at pseudo-Ringo’s nose! The Paul guy did well.

Gnu,
Gene Kelly is magnificent here. That is the most extraordinary dance. Great song too!!

Gnu,
I do and don’t like the Doors. It depends on the song. You chose well. The beginning of this is amazing.

Gnu,
I hope these don’t reflect your weather. All the rain songs are definitely mine.
No wind except here!

Gnu,
I just never got into The Allmans. I probably couldn’t name a single song.

Gnu,
This is one of my favorites of his, and I never really got it-the words are a bit strange when pieced together.
