Have never been much of a Stevie fan, but this is one of his better songs. HOWEVER, his original version was usurped by this little Bay Area band called Cold Blood with a lead singer named Lydia Pense. IMO… this is one of the greatest recordings ever. It leaves me breathless.

And then there’s this version that also leaves Stevie in the dust (just my opinion). Doesn’t hurt that it’s by one of my favorite vocalists (who I just remembered I got to see in a nightclub back in 1978). Here for your listening pleasure is Mama Carmela Corleone…

The song is jazz when she sings it. It sounds like a different song than Stevie’s. I like her.
