Oh how I love this song. Gene had such a wonderful voice and had 4 or 5 other great hits, including Tower of Strength, Chip Chip, and (most famously) A Hundred Pounds Of Clay. But this one has that wonderful trumpet (? coronet?) which just completes the song. WOW! This is interesting…. I was researching the song trying to find out just what the instrument was and I ran across this fact…. Get ready…. it’s going to blow your mind…. a comment on YouTube: “Ironic and very creepy note to this great 1963 song, Dallas radio station KLIF was playing it at the moment JFK was shot in Dallas on November 22 1963. Play it again and listen carefully to the words, its chilling!”
