I was long gone before this flashed in to some Turbulent Indigo or something. I made it as far as Dog Eat Dog and as the stern tipped up, I jumped in to a life raft and headed to other waters.
I remain very happy in the space that was Hissing, and Court and Spark and the reckless daughter but I was done

I can’t dispute your view of most of this album, but I do like this song.

I couldn’t hang on, Mingus, both the album and the tour just about did me in and that whole Doggie thing was too much. The iceberg had been struck and I was jumping into the water with Leo

For me her musical peak was Shadows And Light though I’ve probably listened to Hejira more often. Just one song from her later work is still in my playlists, it’s A Bird That Whistles from Chalk Marks.

I have all her albums. I found several later ones on line and downloaded for free. If I had had to pay, I probably would have chosen not to download many of them.
