Beautiful! I also just listened to Milk and Honey sung by Sandy Denny and Nick Drake, no favorite, they are all great.
Same weather as Christer, after hours of garden work I long for my bathtub now.
I hope your back is better today.

Birgit,
I also have the Jackson C. Frank who wrote the song. I was torn between the two.
His story is so just tragic, and I think his voice reflects that.

Thanks! I like it too.

You’re welcome!

I like this original version. It’s completely new to me (as is the artist himself). To say his story is tragic is a massive understatement. Whew! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackson_C._Frank

im6,
On the same album with this song is Blues Run the Game and Kimbie, my two favorites. I think you’ll like them as well.

Kat,
My old friend Jackson is now well represented by Jim Abbot in:
and in the related “collected works” issued by Ba Da Bing:

Matrk,
I’m going to order the book first. I do have the first album and will want more, but I am on an austerity campaign to save money so I’ll go slowly with the music.
Thanks!

Very wise. Some of the recordings are pretty awful (the worst are some of the ones I had a hand in). BUT, there are some real beauties – much, much better than the original album. The $16 3-CD set is worth having if you know this in advance. The book is extensively researched and even details some of my involvement with Jackson.

Mark,
The book is already loaded on my kindle.
Thanks for the advice on which recording to buy.
